It’s Time For A Change – I’m Moving To A New Club 3/2010

I have been working at the same club for many, many years. I’m comfortable with the management, girls, and how the club functions. It has its flaws but I’ve always viewed them as enduring qualities that were apart of the clubs ‘personality’. The floor plan is a huge open room with medium round tables draped with table cloths. The chairs are nice and comfortable. Brass lines the tops of the 4 stages giving a shiny air of elegance.
Sometimes though in a dancers’ career, one needs a change. Going to a different club in the same city may not mean that you will find new customers but you can make more money. If you find yourself feeling stagnant (like I did) this change can do wonders for your attitude.
A new club can offer a different environment that gets you out of your comfort zone. You still have all the tools to make money but a new club forces you to use them in new or different ways.
I begin my new adventure tonight in a club just 5 miles from my old one. Its less than a year old and in a ritzier part of town. I’m not sure how much that matters but I’ve done pretty well the few times I’ve worked there.
The new club is smaller with only 3 stages but the manager was boasting that in a few months there will be 2 VIP rooms! That is unheard of in our city. The back stage wall is 12 TV’s arranged in a square. Its pretty impressive. The table dance area is behind the main stage secluded from the rest of the bar. The current VIP room is open but they have plans to put up privacy curtains.
Management is so awesome that I almost don’t know what to do with it. When I worked there last Thursday, the manager came over to me, genuinely asked me how I was and offered a free drink! Who does that anymore?
I work with the same girls that travel from club to club so I’m not without buddies. In that respect, comfort is good.
I am actually excited to go into work tonight!
Cheers,
Perelandra
